Ruben Amorim will not lead the team this Friday (20:30) against Est. Amadora, with a view to the derby with Benfica, despite the fact that seven players are at risk of suspension for a series of yellow cards.
Hulmand, Diomande, Nuno Santos, Edwards, Esgayo, Luis Neto and the injured Pote are Sporting players at risk. Therefore, if they receive another yellow card in Amadora, they will miss the next league game, that is against Benfica, on April 6th. However, the first derby will take place on the 2nd, this time at Estádio da Luz, counting towards the second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-final (the Lions won the first leg 2-1). If any of these players are sent off (straight red or double yellow) against Reboleira, they will have to serve a penalty in that Cup derby, but will be fit for the League match despite retaining yellow cards.
Of the players at stake, only Dane Jylmand is going to end his streak of nine yellow cards (he has already served one game suspension after five and is now close to ending his streak of four, which will still cost him a game of suspension).
