In the early hours of Monday to Tuesday, the PPR pursued and intercepted a high-speed boat similar to those used in the drug trade in the middle of the Tagus River between Alcántara and Padrão dos Descobrimentos, and caught four passengers (one of them a Spaniard) who tried to escape and, as shown in the video, CM Having gained access, they dumped several cans of fuel into the water, but 150 were still seized.
The boat was located by the GNR shore control system and the pursuit did not result in personal or property damage.
The four men were released by order of the prosecutor’s office because they were not in possession of drugs and the detention and unlicensed use of these high-speed boats has not yet been criminalized.
