“I will defend Porto to the death,” Pinto da Costa said this Friday, presenting some of the names that will be on his list for the Porto elections on the 27th. The Dragons president also took the opportunity to attack his opponent: “Andre Villas-Boas has already said that in four years he will not be a candidate, for him it is either now or back to the machines.”
Pinto da Costa, who was sued for criticizing referee Joao Pinheiro after the 1-0 defeat to Estoril, took aim at the presidents of Sporting and Benfica. “April 25 has not yet arrived in football. Dr. Varandas broke everything for Joao Pinheiro [após a derrota 2-3 com o V. Guimarães] and there was no process. Rui Costa is a member of Dr. Varandas’ group.”
Pinto da Costa presented some of the names on the list (there are more names – see the Mais Sport section), with a particular focus on José Fernando Figueiredo, who will become SAD’s chief financial officer.
