The search for a 67-year-old recreational fisherman, missing since Monday, from Magoito beach in the municipality of Sintra, Lisbon district, resumed on Wednesday morning, according to the National Maritime Authority (AMN).
The AMN statement indicated that the search operation was coordinated by the captain of the port and the local commander of the Cascais Marine Police, members of the local command of the Cascais Marine Police, the team of the Ericeira rescue station and the units of the Sintra and Montelavar Volunteer Firefighters and the Republican National Guard (NGR).
The search was called off at 8.15pm on Tuesday.
The alert was issued on Tuesday, the day after the disappearance, first by the NDP in the area and then by the ANM, which mobilized resources in the area.
The victim’s car was found nearby.
According to AMN, the recreational fishing enthusiast left home on Monday to engage in this activity and did not return.
