The Barcelona prosecutor’s office argued that the reasons for which the preventive measure was applied in January 2023 remained, but the court decided that Dani Alves could await the outcome of his appeals while free, while maintaining the arrest of his Brazilian and Spanish passports. .
The prosecutor’s office, which also filed an appeal to seek a tougher sentence, considered that the preventive detention should be extended to half the term imposed in the sentence handed down in February, that is, up to two years and three months.
Dani Alves was found guilty of raping a woman in a nightclub toilet in December 2022, although the former Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus player, among others, claimed the relationship was consensual despite , which presented several versions. .
