Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting a war that has already killed thousands of people, destroyed several cities and forced millions to flee the country.
Armed conflict also causes a serious crisis in the supply chain of certain products to other countries, such as grains, and contributes to rising inflation.

Russia attacks Ukrainian energy facilities
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that Russia was forced to launch attacks that caused significant damage to Ukrainian energy facilities in response to Kyiv’s attacks on Russian facilities, Reuters reported.
The president said the attacks were part of the process of “demilitarizing” Ukraine, one of the goals he cited when he sent Russian troops into Ukraine in February 2022.
“Unfortunately, we recently witnessed a series of attacks on our energy facilities and were forced to respond,” Putin said.
