Five years after the fire that devastated the Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral, major reconstruction problems have been overcome and its opening is scheduled for December 8.
On April 15, 2019, a fire destroyed the Paris cathedral, a symbol of Christianity and a UNESCO World Heritage Site that welcomed 12 million visitors a year, with the flames causing the tower and part of the roof to collapse.
Under the leadership of Philippe Jost, responsible for the work after the death of General Jean-Louis Georgelin, about 250 companies and hundreds of artisans, architects and specialists worked on this project to allow the rediscovery of a masterpiece of Gothic art that could be attended by Pope Francis at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.
