Portugal’s Nuno Borges climbed three places this Monday to 55th place in the world tennis rankings, while Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas re-entered the top ten after his triumph at the Masters 1000 in Monte Carlo.
Without even playing in a single tournament, Nuno Borges is again close to the top 50 in a week in which he will make his debut as a seed at the ATP tournament in Bucharest, where, as a pre-designated seventh seed, he will face the Swiss in the first round Stan Wawrinka.
Without any changes in the top 5, Serbian Novak Djokovic remains at the top of the rankings, ahead of Italian Jannik Sinner and Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.
After victory in Monte Carlo, the first Masters 1000 dirt series of the season, Tsitsipas moved up five places to sixth, while defeated finalist Norway’s Kasper Ruud moved up four places to sixth.
During the week in which the Billy Jean Cup was played, there were no changes in the women’s ranking: Francisca Jorge remained in 190th place as the best Portuguese woman, and Poland’s Iga Swiatek is in the lead, ahead of Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka and American Coco Gauff.
