Filippo Ganna sets a new hour record with 56.792 km

Euskaraz irakurri: Filippo Gannak orduko marka berria ezarri du (56,792 Km)

Filippo Ganna has established a new record of the hour with 56, 792 kilometers. The Italian has surpassed the previous world record set by the British by 1,294 meters Dan Bigham.

At 26 years old, Ganna has set the best record in history at the Velodrome in Greenchen (Switzerland). Not only has he broken the record set on August 19 by Bigham, but the Italian also exceeded the 56.375 kilometers set by the British Chris Boardman in the year 1996.

That record, so far the longest distance traveled by bicycle in sixty minutes, was later invalidated by the International Cycling Union. (ICU) for using the famous “superman” position.

The Inneos rider used his experience to set the new record. The double world time trial champion and current Olympic team pursuit champion adds the hour record to his record.
