Tuesday’s opening match of the Asian Football Champions League between Al Ain and Jorge Jesus’ Al Hilal was postponed until Wednesday due to heavy rain in the United Arab Emirates.
The decision was announced on Tuesday by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) in light of storms and floods that have affected the United Arab Emirates, causing flooding on major roads and the closure of roads and bridges.
The UAE Federation has already canceled all local games.
According to the AFC, the Champions’ first semi-final game is scheduled to take place on Wednesday at 20:00 local time (17:00 Lisbon time), the same day as the other semi-final between South Koreans Ulsan and the Japanese. Yokohama Marinos.
Al Hilal, who have Jorge Jesus as well as Portugal international Ruben Neves, are aiming for their fifth Asian title in a tournament in which they are yet to reach the final, while Al Ain only won the trophy in 2003 .
