According to authorities, a man started a fire at a family member’s home in early January, endangering lives and valuable property without receiving the same proportionate benefit as from initially extinguishing it.
During that month, he set fire to an extension to a neighbor’s house and, during an argument with another neighbor, attacked him with a pitchfork, causing him injuries to his lower limbs.
In February, also for unbiased reasons, he broke the windows of a gas station located near his area of residence.
The man threatened to kill family members and neighbors using a sharp weapon, a sickle or an ax, and even tried to attack the victims with these tools.
The detainee, who has a history of psychiatric illness and a bushfire conviction, will be present at the first judicial interview for the purpose of using coercive measures.
