According to the Directorate General of Reintegration and Prison Services (DGRSP), at the end of March, 136 young people were admitted to educational centers in Portugal, 79 (58.09%) of whom were in a semi-open regime.
Monthly statistics for educational centers, published on the guardianship website for March, require that 132 young people were “actually present” in the centers, despite the fact that four were “in a situation of unauthorized absence.” The overall occupancy rate was 101.49%.
From an evolutionary perspective, the total number of hospitalized patients represents an increase of 3.03% compared to the same month in 2023, consistent with the previous month, with 120 (88.24%) complying with the “protective measure of hospitalization” and seven with “ period of intensive supervision as part of the internment measures.”
