Despite the escalating conflict in the Middle East, especially tensions between Israel and Iran, the price of Brent oil, which serves as a benchmark for the European market, fell slightly this Friday (0.57%) to $86.61 per barrel. after increasing by 4% in the morning, when news of Israel’s attack on Iran became known. As markets realized Iran had no intention of retaliating, prices fell again, particularly in futures, heading for a weekly loss of 2.63%, with a barrel priced below $90 (87) for most of the week. As such, global markets are bracing for a third straight weekly decline as refineries cut production rates.
