Luis Rubiales is on trial for kissing Jenny Hermoso without consent during Spain’s medal presentation after winning the 2023 Women’s World Cup. The court rejected the appeals of the former president of the federation. In addition to Luis Rubiales, Jorge Vilda, the former coach of the national team, Albert Luque, sporting director, and Ruben Rivera, responsible for the marketing of the Federation, will be tried in the same trial.
According to the Spanish press, “the court considers that the facts stated in the judgment include evidence consistent with the typical description of a crime against sexual freedom and coercion.”
Let’s remember that Spanish prosecutors requested two and a half years in prison for Luis Rubiales for crimes related to coercion and sexual violence, and one and a half years for Jorge Vilda, Ruben Rivera and Albert Luque.
