Desportivo de Chaves’ SAD denies fan violence and wants justice

The president of SAD Desportivo de Chaves said this Monday that the fans of Trás os Montes did not use violence or attack the players of Estoril Praia in the match of the 30th round of the I League, adding that an internal process will be opened.

“I want to make it clear that the Desportivo de Chavez fans did not use violence or attempt to attack the Estoril Praia athletes.” When they started attacking the fans, the athletes lost their minds. Let’s look at the reports, both from the League and the police [de Segurança Pública] and try to protect our [adeptos]. We want justice to be done,” assured Francisco José Carvalho, president of SAD Desportivo de Chavez, in a statement to Lusa.

However, the person in charge condemned the invasion of the ground, so an “internal process” will be opened.

“We will check who the fans were who entered the field. If they are members of Desportivo de Chavez, we will take action because they will not get away with this situation. There should be sanctions for people who entered the field,” the official said.

Francisco José Carvalho expressed regret over the attitude of goalkeeper Marcelo Carne, who, in his opinion, “as a professional” should not have resorted to violence after being the protagonist of “several incidents that ended [dar origem] something that should not happen”, a field of invasion.

“It was the Estoril Praia players who started the violence, not the Desportivo de Chavez fans.” What the fans did was not done, but there was no violence either, they simply went to ask the goalkeeper for satisfaction, because he, from the beginning of the second half, after the goal [primeiro] goal, he always provoked the fans and insulted the ball catcher,” he emphasized.

According to the director, the intention of the fan who entered the field was not to attack the Estoril goalkeeper.

“A fan of Desportivo Chaves came onto the field and addressed the goalkeeper. [Marcelo Carné]who would turn his back if he wanted [agredi-lo]“He did it right away and didn’t do it, he just went there to talk about what was going on,” he repeated.

Regarding possible sanctions against the Flaviense structure, Francisco José Carvalho said he expected “a very large fine and perhaps some kind of game behind closed doors.”

A pitch invasion during the added period of Sunday’s game between Desportivo de Chavez and Estoril Praia from the 30th round of the I Football League played in Chavez led to disrespect and aggression between Flavian fans and Estoril Praia players, goalkeeper Marcelo Carne and Pedro Alvaro see straight red.

After a 20-minute break, play resumed with the home team scoring in the 90+20 minutes to make it 2-2 thanks to Morim as striker João Carlos took over as Estoril Praia goalkeeper.

The home side scored first through Joao Correia in the 32nd minute, but Estorilistas took the lead with goals from Basso (58) and Fabricio (71), conceding a draw after the restart.
