The Disciplinary Board (CD) of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) this Friday began an urgent disciplinary process regarding the incidents in the game between Desportivo de Chaves and Estoril Praia in the 30th round of the I League.
“Initiation of disciplinary proceedings with urgent appointment against Grupo Desportivo de Chaves – Futebol SAD, Pedro Miguel da Costa Alvaro, Marcelo Enrique Passos Carne, Nuno Miguel Pereira Diogo, Andre das Neves Paquete de Oliveira, Thiago Filipe Alves Araujo, Vasco Cesar Freire de Cibra and António Baptista Nobre, by decision of the Professional Section,” reads a statement from the CD FPF.
According to the document, the opening of this process is due to “the factuality contained in the official reports of the games and the participation provided by Estoril Praia Futebol SAD.”
“The process was sent on April 24, 2024 to the Commission of Instructors of the Portuguese League, with the advertisement being excluded until the end of the instructions,” adds the disciplinary body.
In the 30th round of the I League match played on Sunday in Chaves, a pitch invasion during stoppage time led to disrespect and aggression between Flavian fans and Estoril Praia players, with goalkeeper Marcelo Carne and defender Pedro Alvaro being sent off . with a straight red card.
After a 20-minute break, the game resumed: the home team scored a goal in the 90+20 minutes with the score 2:2 thanks to Morim, when striker João Carlos defended the Estoril Praia goal due to the goalkeeper being sent off. and at a time when the Canarinho emblem had already exhausted its replacement possibilities.
The home side scored first through João Correia in the 32nd minute, but Estorilistas managed to turn the tide with goals from Basso (58) and Fabricio (71), abandoning the tie after the match restarted.
