“We tried to hold elections only at the end of the championship, but in the end this did not happen. Our intention was not to destabilize the team and prevent this whirlwind of confusion in the life of FC Porto,” said the former goalkeeper.
The leader believed that this destabilization was created by the “B List”, headed by Andre Villas-Boas, noting that it was something “strategic”.
“There were terrible moments of destabilization when the necessary environment was not created for the team to become champions. This was a strategic move on the part of those who compete with us,” analyzed Vitor Baia.
The candidate from List A said that it is necessary to create conditions before the end of the championship so that the team “does everything they can and shows all their qualities.”
“We have the best coach in the world and it’s incredible how he has managed to keep the team competitive in the midst of this turmoil. The players need consistency and that hasn’t been the case since the start of the campaign,” the former player added.
Speaking about how the elections are being held, Vitor Baia called it “a great demonstration of the strength and vitality of the club.”
“I don’t see this large turnout being a desire for change on the part of the members. This is a way for members to demonstrate who is capable of continuing the victories of this club,” he said.
The A-list candidate showed “great confidence” in the campaign, feeling “the affection of the members” during the voting.
“I have had the privilege of working with Pinto da Costa for the last four years and he is a man of incredible determination. It requires our full commitment, from morning to evening, to FC Porto. He’s in good shape. mood and amazed by this sea of people,” he concluded.
