Thousands demonstrate again in Madrid to ask Sanchez not to resign

Thousands of people demonstrated this Sunday in Madrid for the second day in a row to ask Socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez not to resign after the government leader said he was considering leaving office.

The demonstration, which attracted about 5,000 people according to local authorities, marched along the Paseo del Prado, one of Madrid’s central arteries, to the doors of the Congress of Deputies (parliament), with participants displaying signs with phrases such as “don.” “Don’t give up” or “Sanchez continues.”

On Saturday, more than ten thousand people also demonstrated in Madrid in front of the national headquarters of the Spanish Socialist Party (PSOE) in support of the prime minister and asking him not to resign.
