Mozambican teachers and health workers on Tuesday stressed that regularizing the unified pay table and improving working conditions are key objectives of the civil service ahead of Labor Day.
“There are teachers who, before the introduction of the Unified Salary Fund [TSU, desde 2023], they received more, but now their salaries have been cut. There is no more promotion and career growth at the table,” National Association of Teachers (Anapro) President Isak Marrengula told Luse as he looked ahead to International Workers’ Day, which is celebrated on May 1.
“We have colleagues who graduated four years ago and we don’t see their category changing, but they should already be getting double what they are getting,” he said.
