Soldiers from the Center for Investigation and Support of Victims of Domestic Violence of the PNR Command in Lisbon are this Friday afternoon at the Kuf-Cascais Hospital, where they will interview American jeweler Betty Grafstein, 95, as part of a criminal investigation initiated by the Domestic Investigation Unit DIAP violence in Sintra.
Let us recall that the investigation was opened after the victim complained about her husband, José Castelo Branco, when she was admitted to this department of the hospital on April 20 for treatment of a fractured femur and arm injuries. An American woman accuses her husband of pushing her, causing her injuries.
The GNR soldiers are simply waiting for a translator to arrive so they can formalize the interview with Betty Grafstein.
The CM knows that this must be followed by an interrogation of the subject of the complaint, José Castelo Branco. The decision to prosecute him rests with the Sintra district attorney, who is overseeing the investigation.
