On Tuesday, neo-Nazi militant Mario Machado was sentenced to two years and ten months in prison for inciting hatred and violence against left-wing women in social media posts.
During this process, the subject of controversy was messages published on the former Twitter (now Socialist Alternative (MAS)) of Renata Cambra.
According to CMMario Machado’s defense team, Dr. Jose Manuel Castro, will appeal and demand an acquittal.
In addition to Mario Machado, Ricardo Pais was sentenced to one year and eight months in prison, suspended for two years.
The verdict was read on Tuesday at Lisbon’s local criminal court, Campus Justice, after the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) called for an effective prison sentence for Mario Machado in April’s closing arguments.
