A man made a false appointment at a veterinary clinic, kidnapped and beat a pregnant employee

Posing as a client, the 26-year-old man wanted to make an appointment to have his dog Farruska inserted and vaccinated. However, the animal did not exist, and its purpose was different. After a false appointment at the Amorim veterinary clinic in Povoa de Varzim, he attacked a staff member, who was three months pregnant at the time, until she lost consciousness. He then locked her in the bathroom for an hour. He made off with approximately 100 euros, which he stole from the victim’s wallet.

The crime was committed on February 5, the suspect was arrested by the Porto police. He is accused of robbery and kidnapping.

The victim was attacked as he was leading the suspect towards the exit: he was pinned against the wall and suffered a head injury, causing him to lose consciousness. The attacker, who was unemployed and had citations for property and physical offences, then dragged her into the bathroom and locked her. When she woke up, the woman, who had a mobile phone in her coat, asked for help and was freed by firefighters. She was in shock and was hospitalized. As a judge, the man appears before the authorities on a weekly basis.
