Putin promised the former Israeli leader not to kill Zelensky

Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said that Russian President Vladimir Putin promised him that he would not kill Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Bennett said he knew the Ukrainian president was under threat in the bunker and that he asked Putin if he was going to kill him, and the Russian president said “no”, he was going to kill Zelensky, a British newspaper reported. Independent.

At the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Naftali Bennet acted as an intermediary between the two countries. He was one of the few Western leaders who met with Putin in Moscow during the war.

The former Israeli prime minister said he left the meeting and called Zelensky to inform the Ukrainian president that Putin “is not going to kill him.”

The Kremlin has not yet commented on these statements by Naftali Bennett.

Israel positions itself as an ally of Russia, but also maintains good relations with Western countries.
