On Tuesday, the Judicial Police (PJ) carried out a police operation to execute eight search warrants in and outside homes and two arrests as part of an investigation into economic and financial crimes in the Figueira da Foz municipal council.
According to the SP statement, the detainees, inspectors of the inspection services of the Figueira da Foz City Council, allegedly asked for and accepted undue advantages for carrying out activities related to their duties. We are talking about crimes of corruption and abuse of power.
The defendants sought sums of money in proceedings related to construction projects. They will be present at the Criminal Investigative Court of Coimbra for the first interrogation and enforcement measures.
