The arrests took place last week, but will only be announced this Wednesday in a statement from the Judicial Police.
The PS National Anti-Drug Trafficking Unit discovered a container that arrived at the port of Sines from Panama, containing several photovoltaic panels and related metal structures, and several packages of cocaine were found among the goods.
It turned out that the container would be transported to Spain, where the drugs would be exported. Thus, the joint venture installed a tracking and surveillance device with which it was possible to monitor the arrival of the container at a warehouse in the Caceres area in Spain, where three suspects were arrested while awaiting the arrival of the container. remove drugs.
Later, also in Spain, a fourth suspect was arrested, who Spanish authorities said was the “leader” of the criminal group.
All of them were in pre-trial detention.
