Thomas Tuchel will play his last game as coach of Bayern Munich on Saturday at Hoffenheim in the last round of the German football championship, he himself confirmed this Friday, putting an end to rumors about a possible stay.
“This is my last press conference on Säbenerstrasse. [sede do Bayern de Munique]. We are continuing to implement the agreement reached in February. There are still some points that are being discussed, but I do not understand my continuity,” explained Thomas Tuchel.
Bayern Munich announced at the end of February, following a series of negative results for the team, that Thomas Tuchel would leave on June 30, a year before the scheduled end of his contract, which began in March 2023.
Since the decision, Bayern have unsuccessfully approached Spaniard Xabi Alonso, who has a contract with Bayer Leverkusen until 2026, German coach Julian Nagelsmann, Thomas Tuchel’s predecessor, and Ralf Rangnick, who manages Austria.
The management of the Bavarian club continues to search for a new coach for the 2024/25 season, in which they will want to regain the title, lost for the first time since 2012/13 to Bayer Leverkusen, and reach the Champions League final, which will be played at the Allianz Arena.
