Amarante FC, participating in the first series of promotion to Ligue 3 of the Portuguese Championship, will play the match against Pevidem, counting for the fourth round, at the Amarante Municipal Stadium, “behind closed doors” due to punishment from the Disciplinary Council of the Portuguese Federation football.
The management of FC Amarante is outraged at the moment chosen by those responsible for the federation to apply the punishment. The club is in second place in the overall table, the game is considered important and will not be able to count on the support of the fans.
“To impose a penalty at this stage of the season is a huge injustice. In the normal phase this would be more or less expected, given that we will always have to carry out the penalty, now in the exceptional phase, for us it is something incredible,” said Ricardo Ribeiro, president of Amarante FC.
