Vitor Costa from Maritimo will miss tomorrow’s match against Boavista in Bessa on the 9th round of the League for being sent off in the previous round in the defeat (1-2) against Casa Pia, so another refereeing error was not corrected.
Maritimo’s second appeal to the FPF Disciplinary Board was dismissed after the judges were heard – all said they had seen the application in its entirety, the CM learned today. Faced with this response, KR retained the punishment. If the CD had asked the referees after seeing the images of the application if they upheld the decision made on the field (the red card and the penalty that led to the defeat of Maritimo), the CM knows that everyone would have answered in the negative. In fact, this was the question the CR asked the judges when it was led by José Manuel Meirim, who left his post in 2020 and was replaced by Claudia Santos.
The CM is also aware that referees Vitor Ferreira and VAR Fabio Melo have already acknowledged that they were wrong in the proposal that dictated the removal of Vitor Costa, and that both have already been punished by the FPF Arbitration Board.
