The PNP dismantled a drug trafficking network operating in the Grand Port on Sunday, arresting 10 people and confiscating more than 70,000 doses of drugs and about 100,000 euros, it was revealed on Monday.
In a statement, the armed forces said the dismantling and arrests carried out by the Criminal Investigation Center (NIC) of Santo Tirso were the culmination of an investigation that lasted about a year.
As a PNP source explained to Lusa, two of the suspects were arrested on Friday, the rest on Sunday, and these two were already present in the Porto judicial court, a measure of coercion was applied to them in the form of daily appearances at the posts. local police officers.
During this operation, the text says, 11 searches were carried out: five in houses, five in vehicles and one in a restaurant and drinking establishment, during which 70 thousand doses of hashish, 2,400 doses of cannabis, 350 doses of cocaine were seized. , 700 doses of MDMA, 500 doses of heroin, 50 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms and about 105 thousand euros in cash.
The NDP also seized two firearms, five mobile phones, two vehicles and various materials for growing, weighing, packaging and cutting narcotic material.
The remaining eight detainees, one of whom has a criminal record, will appear at the Porto Judicial Court on Tuesday to face enforcement measures.
