Experienced Portugal international Pizzi will not continue his career at Sporting Braga, the Minho club, which ranks fourth in the I Football League, announced this Wednesday.
“It was nice to have you back, Luis Miguel. [Pizzi]. Thank you for everything,” can be read on the social networks of the Minho club, in a farewell to the 34-year-old midfielder and in an implicit reference to his second spell at Arsenalistas, after his return, 12 years later: in January 2023.
The departure of Pizzi, whose contract with Minho’s team expires in June, comes a day after the departure of experienced central defender Jose Fonte (40).
The midfielder has made 44 appearances for Sporting de Braga in all competitions (national and international) this season, scoring four goals and providing four assists.
During the 2007/08 season, Pizzi played for Braga’s youth team from Braganca, but in the senior team, after several loan spells, he played just two games at the start of the 2011/12 season before being transferred to Atlético Madrid. Madrid, August 2011.
