Dustin Johnson, first winner of LIV Golf and 18 million dollars

With his sixteenth place on Sunday in the Bangkok tournament, in which the Spaniard Eugenio López-Chacarra won, the American Dustin Johnson I know assured the triumph final in the first edition of LIV Golfthe new circuit financed by Saudi Arabia, which brings a prize of 18 million dollars.

Johnson, winner of two majors (2016 US Open and 2020 Masters), achieves the individual final triumph in a mathematical wayin the absence of two championships (Jeddah and Miami) and with the points he has obtained throughout a campaign in which he won the Boston tournament and finished five times in the top 10 in the first six contests played.

He had three points in Bangkok, adding to his eighth place finish in London, fourth in Portland, third in Bedminster, victory in Boston and third in Chicago. He now has 121 points in the competition all season, 42 more than second-placed South African Branden Grace.

Now the interest is focused on the fight for second placewhich represents a prize of 8 million dollarsand the third, with 4 millions.

The 2018 Masters winner, fellow American Patrick Reed, is currently in third place ahead of the 2022 British Open champion, Australian Cameron Smith. Charl Schwartzel, Matthew Wolff, Louis Oosthuizen, Sergio García, Joaquín Niemann, Eugenio López-Chacarra, Henrik Stenson and Paul Casey also have options to finish on the final podium.
