This type of punishment can be applied to defendants who have at least two active prison sentences and have demonstrated a strong propensity for crime.
The events took place on August 8, 2023 at 00:30 at the site of the celebrations in honor of Our Lady of La Salette, in Oliveira de Azemeis.
During the trial, the defendant, who is in jail, denied committing the crime, saying that a child approached him, pulled off his shirt and said something that sounded like “coin.”
“I said I don’t have any coins and pushed her. I didn’t take the child. I just touched her to get her off me and moved on,” he said.
According to the prosecutor’s indictment, the defendant saw a four-year-old child playing near his parents’ tent and called her over, then offered the boy euros to accompany him home so he could maintain sexual contact with him. to him.
At this time, the defendant was intercepted by a woman who prevented him from carrying out his intentions and taking the child to his parents.
The defendant had already been convicted of the offenses of simple bodily harm, child sexual abuse, sexual assault, possession of a prohibited weapon and aggravated rape, and had served lengthy prison sentences.
