Luis Pinto is the new coach of the first team of Tondela, having signed a contract for one season with another option, the SAD of the club of the II Football League announced this Thursday.
“CD Tondela – Futebol SAD hereby formalizes the appointment of Luis Pinto as coach of our first team. The coach signs a contract valid for one season for our club, with the option of another,” SAD said.
In statements released by Beiroins, Luis Pinto, who coached Ligue 3 side Fafe last season, said he was “very proud” to be in charge of “a big club like Tondela.”
“This is a challenge that I am ready for and which I accept with great satisfaction,” added 35-year-old Luis Pinto.
The new coach will make his professional debut after also playing for clubs such as Mirandela, Felgueiras, Real Massama, Lesa and Lusitania de Lurosa.
Luis Pinto replaces Sergio Gaminho, who left Tondela at the end of this season, in which Tondela’s side finished sixth in Liga II with 49 points.
