Guildeon Novais Diaz, 43, and his girlfriend had just gotten off the bus and were already near the house where they lived when two men on a motorcycle suddenly arrived with guns drawn and announced a robbery. Neighbors who ran away after hearing the gunshots and tried to help Guildeon said that the duo had spent the day robbing people in the area, and that, knowing this and not being able to count on police assistance, as is often the case in neighborhoods on the poor The outskirts of the capital, the Paulistas, locked themselves in their houses.
