Serap Ela, a five-year-old girl, was rescued from rubble in Hatay, Turkey, 51 hours after an earthquake destroyed her home.
Rescuers heard a voice in the middle of the rubble and after three hours of work in the area, they managed to save Serap Ela. “I am very heavy,” the girl told rescuers when she was pulled out from under the rubble. Medical teams immediately took the child to the hospital, according to a Turkish newspaper. Daily Sabah.
Rescue teams continue to work in the region to find more people under the rubble. The earthquake struck on the Turkish-Syrian border early Monday morning. The epicenter of the earthquake occurred in the Turkish city of Kahramanmaras.
