A light truck accident early this Monday morning caused serious injuries in the town of Lameiros, district of San Luis, municipality of Odemira.
According to a source in the Subregional Command for Emergency Situations and Civil Protection of Alentejo, “the vehicle lost speed and fell into a ravine about 15 meters deep.”
The driver, a 30-year-old Portuguese woman, was “trapped and seriously injured.”
After emergency crews stabilized the situation on the scene, the Odemir Fire Department, accompanied by VMER personnel, transported the victim to the emergency department of the Litoral Alentejuno Hospital in Santiago do Cacem.
The alarm was raised at 00:34 and the relief operations involved 10 operatives supported by 4 vehicles from the Odemira fire station, VMER from the Alentejuno Litoral Hospital and GNR.
