The first vice-president of the PSD this Wednesday asked middle-class voters to give a “red card” to Chega and in particular to the PS on Sunday, saying that the leaders of these parties “take money from the middle class.”
At a rally in Vilaverde, Braga district, as part of the AD campaign in support of European women, Paulo Rangel, Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs, mentioned the “leadership” in the parliamentary committee of the proposed new rate table for the IRS PSD and CDS-PP categories, voted against PS, PCP, BE and Livre, while Chega abstained.
On the other hand, the Committee on Budget and Finance approved the PS proposal to reduce IRS rates to level 6, but, unlike PSD and CDS, maintaining rates for the following levels.
“Pedro Nuno, Santos and Andre Ventura are taking money from the middle class, they have united to harm the middle class,” Rangel accused, saying that these parties believe that people who earn 1,500 euros or 2,000 euros are rich and do not need shift supervisor.
The head of the SDP list in the last three European elections made a direct appeal to voters to punish these parties for this particular decision in Sunday’s European Parliament elections.
“I ask all the representatives of this category, who live from work and who have nothing left, to give a red card to Chege and especially the PS on the 9th. The PS is the enemy party of the middle class,” he accused.
The former MEP said this is the “sixth or seventh time” that the PS and Chega have united “in an objective alliance in parliament against the government.”
“This is a negative coalition between Pedro Nuno Santos and Andre Ventura, doesn’t Ms. Marta Temido come, doesn’t Mr. Pedro Nuno Santos say that AD was created with the participation of the radical right. They are the ones who legitimize the radicals. yes, it’s not us,” he criticized, repeating that Pedro Nuno Santos votes with Andre Ventura “every week” in parliament.
The leader of the Social Democrats said that a vote for AD is a vote “for moderation, against extremism, demagoguery and disinformation,” accusing the PS of “inventing positions of the SDP and SDS-NP, which never existed, in order to intimidate people.” “.
Rangel also criticized the position of the head of the PS list, Marta Temido, regarding the current President of the European Commission, saying that she speaks of Ursula von der Leyen “as if she were a dangerous extremist.”
“This is a complete negation of everything the PS has done over the last few years: former Prime Minister Antonio Costa has emphatically stated that he supports von der Leyen, how does she justify this?” he asked.
On the other hand, the former MEP believed that the PS had “no moral right” to criticize von der Leyen when António Costa “wanted funds to be transferred to Hungary” when that country violated the community’s human rights rules.
“The person who stopped it was the president of the European Commission,” he said on the eve of von der Leyen joining the AD campaign.
“Come to Portugal tomorrow [quinta-feira] support Sebastian Bugalia and AD. The PS cannot say for years that the President of the European Commission is great and then, conveniently in the last month of the election campaign, be afraid of von der Leyen,” he said, inviting Pedro Nuno Santos and Marta Temido to explain.
Paulo Rangel said he felt “the greatest pride, joy and emotion” in selecting AD list chief Sebastian Bugalho, praising the “gentle and soft” way in which he talks to everyone on the street without “poking or prodding him.” opponents.”
“He’s a young man who teaches a lesson about what it means to be a moderate in politics, a man who has a lot of experience and has a responsibility to respect his opponent in a different way,” he said, referring to Martha. Temido.
The minister also left words in defense of the government’s migration plan: “We need migrants, but who come here regularly and with dignity, we do not do it like Chega, who considers immigrants to be bogeymen,” he emphasized.
