This Friday, the leader of Čegi made a final call to vote for the European elections on Sunday and said that the party is going to the elections to win, and not to “come in second or third.”
“I would like to ask that no one stay at home on Sunday. Sunday must be our day,” Andre Ventura said at a campaign closing rally in Viana do Castelo.

“We are going to win this election,” he noted, insisting that for Chega to “win on Sunday” he needed to “get everyone, everyone, everyone to vote.”
Speaking immediately before this, the head of the Chegi list said he had criticized his opponents and said that he did not understand what motivates them.
The former ambassador said that in his diplomatic career he had not seen “any of the candidates appear, negotiate an agreement, confer with other countries,” and countered that he spent “40 years abroad defending Portugal and the Portuguese.” .
“This was my mission. Being a diplomat is like being a priest, it’s a mission,” he defended himself.
António Tangier Correa also stated that he did not have to be the European candidate, but that he accepted the invitation because the party president asked him to do so, and also “from Portugal and the Portuguese.”
Speaking about immigration, Chegi’s first candidate for the European Parliament considered that “what is happening is a replacement of the population.”
