FC Porto, the winner of the trophy, reached the final of the Portuguese Football Cup for the sixth time in a row this Wednesday, winning 1-0 against Académico de Viseu of the II Liga in the quarter-finals.
A goal by midfielder Andre Franco in the 50th minute ended the victory for the Dragons, who are thus in the 49th time in the next stage of the competition they won last season against Tondela.
In the semi-final, which will consist of two legs, Porto’s players will face Famalicao, who eliminated BSAD 4-1 today.
Two other quarter-final matches are scheduled for Thursday: Casa Pia of the first division will host Nacional from the II Liga, and Sporting de Braga will host Benfica in the “big” game of this match.
