Video surveillance helped judicial police identify the group that stabbed young people in Porto

The Judicial Police has taken over the investigation into the case of two men of Moroccan nationality who were seriously injured after being stabbed by a group of 8-10 Indian nationals on Monday evening near the upper deck of the Luis I Bridge in Porto.

The group fled the scene after the brutal attacks and inspectors are now trying to identify the attackers using CCTV installed in Baixa or even commercial establishments.

The case is being treated as attempted murder. The two victims, aged 24 and 28, were stabbed in the head, chest, arms and legs. A knife and an iron were used.

After the stabbings, the two men were left prostrate on the ground and were helped by others passing by on Avenida Vimara Perez who alerted emergency services and PSP. One of the victims was taken to a hospital in Santo Antonio, and the other in Sao Joao. The reasons for the fight are unknown.
