The German Edin Terzic resigned this Thursday as coach of Borussia Dortmund after a season in which he led the football team to the Champions League final, losing to Real Madrid (2-0).
“I believe the club needs to start a new era with a new manager,” Terzic explained, adding that after the Champions final at Wembley he asked for a meeting with those in charge because he knew the time had come to leave .
Terzic, 41, worked at Dortmund for many years, first as part of the technical staff and then, from December 2020, as head coach, on a journey that included winning the German Cup in the 2020/21 season.
In the 2022/23 season, Borussia Dortmund were “within a blink of an eye” of winning the title, entering the final round with two points ahead of Bayern Munich, but ultimately drew the final round and dropped to second place.
