The Cazoo Baskonia will claim financial compensation after the announcement of signing for the Red Star of Argentine Luca Vildozaof whose sports rights outside the NBA, he points out, is the owner.
The Basque club issued a statement, in which it ensures that “owns the player’s rights outside of the NBAas agreed between the player himself and the club, in the agreement for his departure to the NBA and joining the New York Knicks, in the month of May 2021.
He clarified that this means that “in the case of signing for a club outside the NBA, either the player or the club he joins must financially compensate Baskonia.”
In the second instance, he denounced that the hiring of the Argentine by the Red Star was carried out “without the participation or consent of Baskoniawithout even receiving any communication in this regard, and without paying the agreed financial compensation, which represents a very serious breach of the agreements reached for his departure to the NBA, attributable to the player and his destination club.
The entity from Vitoria explained that after learning of the contract, it required its rights from both the club and the player. Likewise, they point out from Baskonia that this situation was transferred to the Euroleague, requesting “the application of the appropriate legal measures, and especially, the suspension of the registration of the player with the Red Star in order to maintain the integrity of the competition, which could be affected otherwise”.
After the publication of this statement, from the player’s environment they assured EFE that “the matter is in the hands of the lawyers” and that “Baskonia was informed of all the details from the beginning of the process.”
Casually, The Red Star will visit Baskonia next Wednesday precisely on the third day of the Euroleague.
