The fan zone in Berlin was partially evacuated this Friday by German police, a few hours away from Germany-Scotland, in Munich, during the first match of the 2024 European Football Championship, due to a suspicious object.

According to local press reports, one person was detained and police were investigating the possibility that the suspicious item – a backpack – had been left at the entrance because it was too bulky.
An explosives detection team was called in, including the use of dogs.
Germany and Scotland open the European Football Championship this Friday in Munich with a match scheduled for 21:00 local time (20:00 in Lisbon).
