The DJ and two friends who accompanied him will appear in court on Wednesday on suspicion of raping a young woman after performing at a Coimbra nightclub in April 2023.
Prosecutors accuse three young men, aged 24 to 28, living in the north of the country, of aggravated rape against two friends of the DJ, the deputy said, bringing the charge to which the Lusa Agency had access.
The alleged crime occurred on the night the DJ was performing at a nightclub in the city where the victim was a promoter who knew each other but did not have “any close relationship,” the prosecutor’s office (MP) said.
Early in the morning, after drinking too much alcohol, the victim decided to leave the club around 6:30 a.m., asking one of the establishment’s security guards if he could take her home.
After the security guard said he couldn’t, he agreed to a ride offered by the DJ and two of his friends.
Since they were all from the north, one of the accused asked the victim if they could take a break at his house for a while, to which he agreed on the condition that they stay in the student hostel lounge as he lived in the room.
Once inside the house, the young woman went alone to her room to sleep, but moments later a DJ entered the room, restrained the victim and allegedly raped her, with the victim repeating the word “no” several times and asking her to stop. .
While the victim was crying, the DJ left the room.
Later, two of his friends, one a hairdresser and the other a content creator, entered the room and raped the young woman, who unsuccessfully tried to escape.
Following the alleged crime, one of the accused asked the victim for the unlock code for her mobile phone in order to gain access to the device and delete all the photos the young woman had taken that night.
After this, the three accused hurriedly left the house.
Later, the girl was helped by her housemates who called 112.
“As a direct consequence of the behavior described, the victim lives in constant panic, has problems sleeping, has suddenly lost more than 10 kilograms of weight, and is afraid that the accused, directly or through intermediaries, may infringe on her physical integrity and sexual self-determination and that of her family members.” , – emphasized the prosecutor’s office.
The trial behind closed doors will begin on Wednesday in a Coimbra court at 9:30 am.
