France even qualified for Euro 2024 with a victory – 1:0 over Austria -, but for Kylian Mbappe his debut match at the tournament was not a very good memory. The Gauls’ star striker suffered a broken nose in the closing stages of the match and had to be taken to a Düsseldorf hospital where a decision on possible surgery will be made this evening, according to L’Equipe.
French television BFMtv, on the other hand, reports that the tests were encouraging and the young striker will not need surgery.
It remains to be seen how long the French striker will be out of action, which the French Football Federation (FFF) is expected to announce in the next few hours. His absence will be on the table, at least for the next match against the Netherlands.
