German Robin Gosens is at the top of the list of candidates to strengthen Benfica’s left back next season. The 29-year-old Union Berlin player has the characteristics that Roger Schmidt likes, so a possible deal could develop in the coming days. The German club wants at least 12 million euros, but Benfica wants to reduce this amount, especially because the loan offer was rejected.
The footballer is already aware of the interest of the “Reds” and does not close the door to a possible exit, especially since his goal is to represent a club playing in the Champions League. The possible signing of the Germany international guarantees Roger Schmidt great attacking ability and a lot of experience.
Also on Benfica’s list is Argentine Nicolás Tagliafico. The 31-year-old left-back represents French club Lyon and is a more affordable option given his age and the fact that his contract expires next year. He also has plenty of international experience which could help Spaniard Alvaro Carreras (21) grow.
