Sporting Braga will face Israel’s Maccabi Petah Tikva in the second qualifying round of the Europa League, according to the draw held this Wednesday in Nyon, Switzerland.
Braga, who finished fourth in the 2023/24 I League, will face the Israeli Cup winners on their way to the Europa League group stage, a competition in which they were finalists in the 2010/11 season, losing the decider to Porto.
Sporting Braga will host Maccabi Petah Tikva in the first match on July 25 and visit the Israelis a week later on August 1 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
To advance to the group stage, Minho’s team must advance through this round, as well as the third qualifying round scheduled for August 8 and 15, and the playoffs on August 22 and 29.
Among the remaining games of this stage, the highlight is the meeting between the Dutch from Ajax and the Serbs from Vojvodina, while the Greeks from Panathinaikos meet the winner of the match between the Bulgarians from Botev Plovdiv and the Slovenes from Maribor.
