The Inspectorate General of Education and Science (IGEC) this year inspected 18 public schools and seven colleges where secondary school students’ grades were over- or under-reported, but “overall there were no discrepancies”, the ministry said.
Lusa asked the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MECI) questions about IGEC’s performance over the last academic year, taking into account reports that each year highlight schools that appear to be systematically awarding higher or lower grades that their students deserve .
According to MECI, “measures were introduced in some high-performing schools in May as this is the time of year for trends to be confirmed.”
