The President of the Assembly of the Republic said that a plenary test would be carried out on Friday at the traffic lights to regulate the intervention time. The system is expected to be fully operational after the parliamentary recess.
At the end of today’s plenary session, José Pedro Aguiar-Branco announced that the first test of this new system, announced in April, would be carried out on Friday, and said that this test would not include automatic gender cutting for MPs or government members.
“But the green, yellow and red lights may be the first test for each of the deputies to get used to managing their intervention with the light,” he added, noting that “adaptation of the audible signal” is also being explored to alert speakers that time is running out.
