A 20-year-old motorcyclist died on Sunday evening when the motorcycle he was riding collided with two cars in Paredes. Another person suffered minor injuries in the same accident.
At around 23:00, Paredes firefighters were alerted to a traffic accident on the A4 motorway in the direction of Amarante/Porto at km 30. An ambulance and resuscitation team was also called.
Resuscitation efforts began. However, the young man did not survive the severity of his injuries and died on the spot.
The GNR Traffic Squad was mobilized to support the relief operations and ensure traffic management. The GNR Porto Accident Investigation Team is investigating the causes of the accident.
The minor victim was taken to the Penafiel hospital by Paredes firefighters. The body of the deceased was taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine.
